Kitchen Hire Emergency

22.30hrs we received an emergency call from a restaurant who had just run out of LPG gas from their commercial underground gas tank. We discussed the logistics of supplying one of our emergency Rational 101E hire ovens or a Rational 101G hire oven working off a couple of 19Kg Calor gas bottles. Our client had 350 guests in for Christmas lunch and dinner (£45 per head) the following day and no way fulfilling his pre-booked orders. Our on call emergency help line organised one of our Rational trained engineers to prepare and install two 10 rack Rational 101G ovens ready for 08.00hrs he following day. In addition our client added an LPG Pitco twin basket fryer, Falcon Dominator solid top, a Blue Seal Chargrill. The kitchen was going to be too small with all their static catering equipment so we put up a 6m x 3m catering tent annexed to their kitchen. Every catering appliance we have in a 30,000 warehouse is ready for immediate hire. The time it takes to fork lift down hire items, make a quick plug in test, load, deliver, install is under estimated and commonly misunderstood. We called our on-call engineer and driver in the morning at 06.00hrs. The restaurant was up and running by 08.30hrs on 24th December. All our catering appliances are plug and go, (not Nat Gas) the delivery venue gave us clear access and supplied assistance to put the equipment in place while we erected a temporary catering tent. Our client was very happy with the efforts of our emergency crew. they both received a £100 gratuity and a meal for two in the restaurant. Our client averted a £15,000 - £20,000 income loss and 350 bad guest reviews. You just need to know where to go, who to trust in an emergency, and make a quick decision.
